What a funny post. I'm sure I don't want to know half of what you've seen.
Wow. I can't even imagine the things you've seen. I like to think that people act differently when they are staying at a motel. If that's how they act at home, that's a little scary.
Oh my god that's disgusting. People actually do that? :)
My family and I actually had a hotel maid track us to our car to thank us for leaving the room in such great condition. She said that we'd saved her so much work. I'd never had that happen before, but it made me realize how hard that job must be a lot of the time.Had a good laugh reading your post. Thanks.
This actually was a fun job and we had a WTH at least one time a day. We had fun and got the work done too. I told the Spanish girls one day I would write something about some adventures there when I needed a good laugh. We had a No Cussing policy, which is why I always got them to teach me bad words so on the occasion I wanted to scream at something I could scream one and no one would know but them.
They first took away all of our vacations and then cut us to 12-15 hrs a week. I went and filed a partial unemployment and helped the Spanish girls get theirs started too. Apparently this action on my part was frowned upon by the higher ups and eventually I found something else with more hours. This was the only job I could find in town after the warehouse I worked closed its doors.
I don't know why people become uncivilized slobs when they stay in a hotel. I guess they figure they are paying for someone to clean up after them and revert to three year olds.
You just mentioned the reasons I hate traveling. It freaks me out to think of what has gone on in those rooms knowing how gross people can be!!
i always feel i have to clean up for the person cleaning :)
Maybe it was the ghosts pooping on the floor. Did it look like marshmallows?
Yuck! And I thought working fast food was bad :( I always try not to make a big mess because I would hate to be on the other end
Please also advise that the drain in the middle of the bathroom floor at local diners are not for pooping. That is what that big white bowl with running water and a silver handle that makes a flushing sound is for :) In other words I feel your pain.
What a job! I think I'll pass. I can't believe people do that to the towels.
That's really funny, and really sad at the same time! I'm A-Z blog hopping. Nice to "meet" you!Christine Coffee in the Garden In the Care of the Great Physician
This is such a great story! I'm impressed that you didn't shy away from the lovely surprises the guests left you, and you even became a ghost hunter! It is horrible how disgusting some people could be. I'm still laughing about the horse comment! Julie
Thanks for the comments to this posting, and sorry it came off sounding so disgusting, but there were days there that little things people did disgusted me. I used to joke that the reason why none of the windows there opened was because the housekeepers may want to fling themselves out. (OK just kidding on that) If you really want to see just what your community is like, work in a public venue a diner, a convenience store.
That is one job I wouldn't want. Cleaning up penguin poo was plenty gross enough. My husband never leaves a hotel room without leaving a tip.
Good grief, people can be amazingly piggish, can't they? What a grim job that must have been. On the plus side, what an excellent story it makes, and I imagine you have scads more up your sleeve. Thanks for sharing the ick!
Great post and funny image. You are right about the Mr. and Mrs. Howell. They shopped at the mall where I worked and left clothes ALL over the dressing room floor saying it was my job to pick up after them. What?!?ScribblesFromJennHappy A to Z-ing!
oh my gosh...my husband and I saw 'tans gone bad' on the internet and we laughed but for some it is not funny is it?eeegads...
So the guest heard wailing in the next room and instead of calling the front desk or the police assumed it was a ghost? That's some responsible citizenship right there!
Like the posting? Give Me a Hollerback here! Don't like it, well post a hollerback anyway, if you'ant to!
