That's terrible!! I didn't know companies could take vacation from a hard working employee! You definitely deserve one after all that. Good luck this summer!
Yes. And I think its going to get worse with the economy. Employers keep taking stuff away and expecting more of us.Shellyhttp://secondhandshoesnovel.blogspot.com/Blogger's being hormonal.
That's terrible! Sure hope you get your vacation this year. :)
yes these companies are in control right now--but tides turn--hoping you get a wonderful vacation soon
Vacation or I quit would be my answer. If they said fine, quit, I'd be on to my next job. Sorry, I don't live for the job.
Oh hun that sucks, hope you get a nice sunny hol this year :)
Wow, I'm sure glad I work for myself now. I don't think I could handle the pressure and never getting a break.
This isn't fair at all. I hope you're able to find a way to finally get your vacation, or better yet find another job with more benefits. Julie
Wow, what a string of crappy luck and timing with vacations! Thanks for mentioning my giveaway.
I don't even see how all of that is legal. I've learned not to ask for time off. I just fill out my form & let them know when I'll be be taking my vacation. If your company values you as an employee, they'll support your time off.
So sorry about your vacation deprivities! I have to take short vacations because my work is done monthly and it has to be done whether I am there or not. To take time off, I have to cram in the work before or after. It makes for some long nights at times.
OMG that's terrible! I knew companies could force overtime - choices! ha! - but I didn't know they could take away vacation. Sonia Lal @ Story Treasury
Thanks for the comments on the Vacation Deprived. Please don't ever let a company do that to you. Due to one of my jobs I almost lost the only thing in this world that matters to me, and that was my marriage. I got so caught up, I didn't realize that it. We are still together actually we will be married 32 years. I am so thankful I was able to to save my marriage. Just please never let a job take away that life and work balance from you like I allowed.
Visiting from the A-Z. I am with you. I haven't been on a real vacation since my honeymoon back in 1997. I think we are both due. :DKathyhttp://gigglingtruckerswife.blogspot.com
It's good to be able to get away from work now and then even if it's just a staycation. I guess I've been pretty lucky in that most of my working life my jobs have seemed like vacations much of the time or I was the boss and I could take off if I wanted to.Hope you have a great vacation soon.Lee A Few Words An A to Z Co-host blog
